Wolverine Pistol/Carbine Build

After the initial build on my first 9mm prototype, the "Trident" action, I began chomping at the bit to build a pistol
roughly based on the same action. What follows is the progress I am making on the project....

Pictured above for the first time during the build - The valve assembly in the gun is basically the same as I used
in the full sized "Trident" rifle with a couple of internal changes to slightly reduce the air flow through the valve. I also used a
smaller transfer port to feed the 12" 9mm barrel. Hammer throw was reduced @.25" as well. The bullets pictured are some
105gr .38/.357 rounds that work very well through the gun. Head diameter is .358 on these... As pictured here, the gun
is roughly the same size as a Crosman 2250, measuring 16" in total length.

I couldn't see going through all of the trouble of doing a custom build, and then using a readily available grip frame, so I set out building one
of my own. The trigger is a two stage adjustable number. Pictured above are the access points for adjusting first stage travel, second stage travel,
and sear let off. After shooting the gun the first couple of days, I decided to add a threaded rear receiver cap that would accommodate a
small shoulder stock. As well as a ported muzzle brake to help control muzzle flip upon discharge. Make no mistake, this gun is loud.
With the flip comp and shoulder stock mounted the action measures in right at 30" with a 14.25" LOP.

With the shoulder stock in place, and red dot mounted I am getting 5 shot grouping that are under an inch at @30 yards. Within that
grouping it is kind of normal to see @3 of the shots touching with it almost impossible to see where one starts, and the other ends.
Initial results with a chrony indicate that the little gun is spitting out 88gr round ball (.36 cal) at @650 ft/sec.  Off a 2850psi fill the gun
is producing 5 shots between a high of 675 and the last of the 5 shots clocking in right at 600fps. These numbers are very preliminary,
and subject to further testing!

These are the last picts to be taken of the gun before I finish off the metal bits and pieces, and get a finish on it... So stay tuned!

The little gun has been completely stripped down, all the metal brought up to a finish state, and anodizing is now complete.

The weather here has been horrible. Temps near freezing, with either rain or drizzle most days, so getting out doors to shoot has
been a challenge as of late.  In order to do some additional testing I added a large barrel end to allow me to shoot this action
in the shop. In a bare barrel configuration, the gun is loud. Loud to the point where I would recommend hearing protection if shooting more than a round or two at a time.

I will be building more of this action in this configuration with the exception that I will be putting it into a small carbine, skeleton style stock.
Figure something like a "Wilderness" pattern. The stock will be needed to bring the balance into the proper place with the long barrel extension in place.

The gun absolutely loves .360 round ball, in the form of #000 Super Buck swagged in a true .360 diameter. Clover leafs are the norm at 35-40 yards,
and accuracy is predictable enough to shoot at soda cans on my 75 yards range. 5 Shots per 3000psi fill are dead on, the 6th is usable at
@45 yards with slight hold over.
